This is the most realistic assessment. IMO the number of mail-in ballots in the many states that don’t count them until after Tue, essentially precludes _knowing_ who won in those many states. If they are foregone conclusions (CA=D, KS=R) the news media can make fairly safe assumptions. But as was demonstrated in 2016, mail-in voting is a different demographic than same-day voting. I do not know exactly how early in-person voting is handled. Are those ballots stored uncounted like mail-in until Wed, or are they tallied in real time same as cast-in-person ballots on Tue itself are done. ---

So as vote after vote gets counted in metro areas, the votes turn bluer (generally) from the earlier completed precincts that are distinctly red. Trump can see those early results, but ignores the whole “10% of the estimated votes in” when 70+% of the votes may be in those urban areas. ---

I _think_ the ballots are registered as being cast but not counted (so you can check online that your ballot was received). You just know there will be some insider who would spill the beans on who is winning either to the media or to a campaign. So, my understanding is they are not counted until after the polls close. Too much temptation for that info to get out. ---

It sure did in 2020. Maybe not the outcome but it delayed it. Presumably republicans have learned a thing or two since that election and will be better at it this time. Trump’s sycophants are mostly idiots but I think the conservative think tanks have smart people who read the tea leaves. ---

And since newspapers are largely gone, it is for the erstwhile Philadelphia Daily News: **Don Loses!**** For 2025, Orange is the new Blue!** And Don is photoshopped into a tailored suit in penitentiary orange with a navy blue tie down to his penis. He’s shackled at the waist and ankles. At the bottom is the sub-headline: **The women of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties tell the President, "Fuck you, Don! We can take care of ourselves!!** Maybe Philadelphia Newspapers will put out a special edition? ---

Nothing Trump did in 2020 delayed the counting of votes or the projection of a winner. Every single one of his court challenges were summarily tossed out and his whining failed to prevent the media from reporting the results as they came in. ---

We have a fairly long thread in P&E about republican attempts to tilt the election. Why you think this will have no effect come election day I am not sure.
