# What will REALLY happen when the world actually runs out of oil?

Well, not really. The sun is powered by nuclear fusion of light elements, while our nuclear waste is the leftovers of fission of heavy elements. It’d be kinda like throwing a very tiny amount of sand onto a campfire; not likely to have any noticeable effect but not _good_ for it, either.
