I’ll take two of that, please. What’s wrong with a man having good legs?

What about the look with the g-string sticking out of the top of the pants? Or the stripper pole or belly dancer exercise videos?

I thought of another one. Shirts and pants bearing gigantic ads for the company that made them.

I thought “muffintops” was just the roll of fat that spilled over the top of jeans. When naked, muffintops become “love handles”. They’ve been around since people have been wearing pants.

“There was this period where everyone seemed to think that vaporware stocks were worth more than companies that made real products, that $5 cups of coffee were a good deal, and housing prices would rise 20% per year forever. Seemingly intelligent and rational people got caught up in the stupidity and it really hurt the country for a very long time.”

I know that people on this board like to routinely bring this up, but I have \*never \*seen a cup of regular coffee sold for $5.

Hell, even at Starbucks, $5 will get you can get _three_ of the little iced cappuccino things.

Some great choices posted already. I was going to say gay marriage bans, but I’ll add LiveJournal, Will Ferrell, and nostalgia for grandpa clothing. Oh: and adults playing Guitar Hero.

People have been tattooing themselves since before recorded history. I doubt its going anywhere. Certain types of tattoos may well become passe’ though. Tramp stamps, barb wire armbands, nautical stars and barcodes I’m looking at YOU.

I can’t let this go by, sorry. I’m in the Seattle area. Not only do I wear “tennis shoes” every single day I can (other than court appearances), I see them everywhere. You honestly don’t see Adidas, New Balance, Vans, and even Converse around town?

Skinny jeans. Once the Bell-bottom roamed the earth, today it is skinny jeans. Both look absurd.

I’m in Seattle also, and I was going to say the same thing. I see tennis shoes all the time. Personally, I do wear them less often than I used to, but I don’t think that has to do with the decade; I just like ballet flats, sandals, and :o Crocs. I think I can pull off Crocs and I don’t care what anyone says about it!

That’s only if they’re too small. I’m pretty thin but not a stick or anything and I can wear them just fine. However, if I try putting some on that are even a TINY bit too small, it’s horrifying! Luckily, I recognize that and don’t wear them. For some reason, a lot of people don’t seem to do the same.

Those pointy shoes and boots. Sometimes I feel old because I think they look absurd. But then, they really do look absurd. All I can think when I see someone wearing them, especially with the floor-brushing pants hem so just the needle-point toe peeks out, is “Fashion Victim!”

“Vocalists” using pitch correctors and the tone-deaf who like them.

Barcodes?? I’ve never seen or heard of people getting barcode tattoos. It’s actually a common thing? Yeah, definitely sounds like a passing fad.

I would never wear skinny jeans, but I think a very specific type can look good in them: tall, thin and long-legged, with smallish feet and preferably wearing heels. But most people who I see wearing them…probably shouldn’t.

I don’t think of that as a contemporary fashion. That was pretty big in the mid-90s and some kids still wear them but I think it’s far fewer than it used to be, and I think it’s widely considered tacky.
