I intentionally pronounce ‘grandiose’ to rhyme with ‘voice’, after one of our clients did this several times in all seriousness during a briefing. From RPGs, I often come across the term ‘fletching’, the craft of making arrows and such. Being a doper, you can imagine how I always say it. ---

Me and my friends started saying “amtracks” instead of “anthrax”. The funny thing is, now “amtracks” sounds more natural than “anthrax” :p. I occasionally say “che-runs” instead of “children”. And I pronounce “wednesday” with three syllables, but only to myself. ---

Pliget(Pli-Get)…instead of Piglet. My daughter couldn’t say Piglet when she was first learning to talk, so we all learned to say it her way. ---

I say “gormet” instead of “gourmet”, because I once heard a chef (a _chef!!_) on a cooking show pronounce it that way and thought it was the funniest thing I’d ever heard. ---

Canvas Shoes - Chicken and Dunklings is adorable. The word dumplings will never pass my lips again. My problem is, there are probably a dozen words that I am can no longer pronounce correctly after all these years of fooling around. ---

My daughter says ‘poncuter’ instead of computer and its just so cute I cant correct her! And spaggerly boggerly instead of spaghetti bolognese Oh, and she used to call Robbie Williams ‘Wobbly Williams’. When she started school her headteacher was called Mr Williams, but she called him ‘Mr Wobbly’!! ---

We’ve dropped ‘com-’ from computer so now it’s just ‘-puter’. The remote is called ‘flippy’. Fruit is ‘fru it’. The cereal ‘Fruit and Fibre’ is pronounced “Fru it 'n Feb bre”. I pronounce Norfolk ‘Nah fuk’ and get picked on for it, oh well. It’s not a mispronunciation but we call our Ford Focus ‘Ford Foci’. ---

My friends and I had a stupid routine-when one of us would properly say “I’m impressed!” the rest would chime in with variations such as “I’m o-pressed” ,“I’m sup-pressed”,“I’m re-pressed” etc.I’ve gotten so used to those variations that I almost found myself saying “I’m compressed” to a not-clued-in co-worker when I saw yesterday how well he sharpened my mowerblade. ---

Although not incorrect, this pisses off many word nazis. I prefer to pronounce _forte_ as for-TA rather than FORT. Just sounds better in English IMO.
