At the Rock Hall of Fame induction, Steve Miller criticized the Hall on several scores, including sexism. I’ve tried to think of female musicians who belong in the Rock Hall of Fame but aren’t there. I’m drawing a blank. Who does Steve Miller have in mind? ---

Obviously I am not Steve Miller. Looking through the list of inductees, I don’t see Pat Benetar, Carly Simon\*, Joan Baez. I can’t find anyone else I can think of that isn’t in there. OTOH, does Steve Miller belong in there, really? 🙂 \*James Taylor is in there, and if he’s rock, so’s Carly ---

Carol Kaye (and the whole Wrecking Crew) should be in there as well. Other names worth considering - Cher, Annie Lennox, Siouxsie Sioux, Melissa Etheridge, The Runaways, The Bangles, The Go-Gos, Kim Deal (with the Pixies), Marianne Faithful, PJ Harvey, Bette Midler, Suzie Quattro, Patty Smyth, Koko Taylor Not sure how many of them qualify for the Hall (what are the criteria?) but there will be a bunch more as the stars of the 80’s and 90’s age into the list. ---
