I’m gettin’ hosed by the whole “context is everything” problem. When driving, practically any version of “Red” by King Crimson. If frustrated at work, “Exactly What You Wanted” by Helmet (from _Aftertaste_). If philosophical, “Bigger Picture” by the Waterboys (from _Room To Roam_). Oh, the hell with it. I’ll take an instrumental and hope it works in most cases: Raymond Scott’s “The Penguin” (most easily found on _Music of Raymond Scott: Reckless Nights & Turkish Twilights_). ---

Okay, this is really dorky. But when I was younger, I used watch Late Night and imagine being a guest and what song I would want Paul to play when I walked over to Dave’s desk. I’m very embarrassed to admit that. :o Anyway, the song was “Do You Know What I Mean”, for the same reason as Sol Grundy had for his song (very cool song, BTW)–not because the lyrics are relevant to my personality, but it’s just a cool-sounding song. ---
