# what would cause my veins to hurt and bruise the skin?

I’ve been in an awful amount of pain for a few weeks now. Waking up in the middle of the night with crazy stabbing pain in my forearms and behind my knees. By the time I wake in the morning I have deep dark purple bruises running along the veins but on the skin. also the veins in my chest are much darker and more visible than usual. Any ideas as to what is going on?
