# What would happen if I smoked.............

catnip? I am fascinated by how this weed affects cats, ALL cats, including lions & tigers, etc. We have alot of catnip growing around the house (and boy, are our 2 cats happy fellows 😉 ) they get so stoned on the shit. What would happen if a human rolled it up and smoked it?

Sigh. No, I am not going to try it.:rolleyes:

Sadly, nothing at all would happen if you smoked catnip. It is not a drug that people can grok, and was placed on this planet solely for the benefit of its’ most advanced species !

I believe you’d get a sudden urge to lick yourself.

More than usual, I mean.

I’ve never heard of anybody getting high smoking catnip. Searching for “smoking catnip” on [http://www.alltheweb.com](http://www.alltheweb.com) only produced 25 hits.

One site had this to say: “In addition, the 1969 report stating that smoking catnip produced psychedelic effects was based on misinformation and a confusion with the plant cannabis.”

I don’t know about smoking it, but I do know that some people drink catnip tea to relax. I am not sure if the relaxing result is chemical or placebo effect.
