We should remember that the 1972 Summer Olympics continued after a day of mourning of the eight Israeli athletes and one West German policeman by Black September terrorists. Or the NFL played (the AFL didn’t) the day of President Kennedy’s funeral (the NFL did get the blessing of Kennedy administration people).
