# What Would Happen if These Deep, Deep Sea Hadal Snailfish Were Brought to the Surface

Scientists recently [filmed hadal snailfish](http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/oct/07/deep.ocean.fish) living five miles below sea level. What would happen in one of them were brought to the surface? Would it pop? Could it survive? How do they manage not to get crushed at such depths?
