# What would have happened to Mussolini if he had survived the war?

Free pass to WWII? It happened in 1911; I didn’t include Italy’s [first invasion of Ethiopia](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Italo-Ethiopian_War) either. ll this even predates the rise of Italian Fascism.

Hey, the Italians colonized Somalia-that was probably the BEST period in that wretched lan’s history! No civil war, pasta, and opera.
