What would Jesus think about all the adulation?

I see, don’t question the validity of science. Got it. Sorry I’m new. I forgot that questioning such thing is not allowed on SD. Ok then I won’t post on this thread anymore

For the benefit for this particular debate (which has NOTHING to do with the debate in this thread), I’ve started a new thread. Post there to your heart’s content.

You’re allowed to question “the validity of science,” whatever you think that means. I said you can’t do it in this thread, because this thread is supposed to be about Jesus (don’t even get me started on the irony). You can keep posting in this thread- you just have to stick to the original topic. If you continue complaining, I’m happy to get serious and give you an official warning.

If you were God, you might.

No, I wouldn’t, and I believe I know my mind better than you do.
And again, have you got a cite for your statement in post #60, or did you make that one up too?

I don’t need a cite if I’m just speaking my mind. I stand by my #60. And this one.

Enough with the bickering!

Theo, he’s asking for a cite because it is stupid to “debate” opinions.

You made statements as facts, and he wants you to prove them. If you cant prove them you cant use them to defend your position in the debate.

Personally I find the whole issue of Gaga pointless… but I see the point in his asking.

That was a bit of pop-cultural anaylsis, by me.

Here is a link for the cite : http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/fr/a/a5/Logo_La_Cit%C3%A9_coll%C3%A9giale_couleur_avec_slogan.jpg

sigh
Try again.

Such a convenient explanation for giving God credit while avoiding giving God blame.

He’s cleverly used a pun to defeat your request that he post some facts to support his argument. Brilliant strategy. Now everybody has to agree with Theophane: Lady Gaga’s fans hate Jesus. (I thought they hated music, but I don’t have a pun.)

If you keep this up we might have to trade names.

“Mysterious ways” isn’t necessarily praise. It just means you don’t understand how or why God moves in the world.

Which is exactly what makes it such a convenient explanation for giving God credit while avoiding giving God blame.

I should rephrase that. Gaga’s fans hate Christianity, and why shouldn’t they? The Little Monsters have every reason to hate and reject Christianity as it is. I sympathize with them.

But let’s not get too off-point.

If you were God, you might.

He has a point Czarcasm; judging from the stories about them, being a god does seem to involve a certain amount of brain damage and a big helping of psychopathy.

It is true that Muhammed is not worshipped as a God, it goes against the basic belief in Islam, that “there is no God but God.”
Also, I wonder if Jesus really wanted to be worshipped as a God. Would’nt the prayer- “Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name…” go instead:" Me, Me, Me, who art on earth, hallowed be My name…"

Can we get a citation for that, at least? It seems like this kind of accusation gets thrown at every major pop star - and I’m just talking about the pop stars, nevermind the kind of nonsense that gets trotted out about rock or heavy metal musicians.

Why should they? What is it about Lady Gaga fandom that implies hate of Christianity?

I don’t see how it could be praise at any time. It’s like saying “the dice fall at random,” merely an observation of behaviour without an attempt to explain its mechanics.
