What would make you change your mind about Bush / the war with Iraq?

I don’t understand. What does it mean exactly? Are you going to punch out your boss because he won’t give you a raise, because you think “action is necessary?” Are you going to shoot your neighbour’s dog since it’s barking in the middle of the night, because because you think “action is necessary?”

Are you saying that you will take whatever actions are necessary to achieve your own ends, completely disregarding any established laws, conventions, protocols, etc?

Not “What would make me change my mind about the war.” At this moment, I ask myself, “What would make me choose a side, in the first place?” I’ve never seen such a biased media. Before the conflict I had a clear-cut opinion (based on things I believed in), but now I’m not so sure.
Apparently, not even Washington knows what the war is (was) all about. At least, that was the impression I got from Bush’s everchanging speeches from week to week.
Truth is, we make claims about this or that, but we may never know what all the reasons for this war are.
Sorry if I sounded too much a la conspiracy theory, but I’ve just been too pessimistic lately.

Forgive me if I reiterate points made by others in this thread, but:

There is nothing that can change my mind. Why? Because we went into this war without the administration offering a coherent, consistent reason or justification for us to do so. Regardless of how much we despise the way certain countries are run, we can’t just eliminate unfriendly governments at will.

It doesn’t matter that the gamble seems to have paid off. The gamble never needed to be made.

There is a principle in law that acts which are illegal when initiated are not made good by what happens later. A police search which is illegal when it is initiated is not validated by the fact that drugs were found later. It remains an illegal search all along and that is the way it should be. An act which was illegal when it was started is not validated by things which happen later. Ever.

So, to me, the answer to the OP is “nothing” as an illegal act cannot be made good by anything else. It is like asking “what would make you believe murder was a good thing?” If you murder someone for no reason, in cold blood, and later by chance he turns out to be bin laden in disguise, you are still guilty of murder.
