Pay for a medical procedure my husband needs but we can’t afford (and insurance won’t cover).
Pay off massive medical bills.
Pay off mortgage and car.
Adopt more abandoned animals.
Start a fund for diabetic animals, giving financial support to their families.
Buy more books.
Establish myself as a person people could ask for help if they ever needed it.

Don’t think I haven’t been planning just this.
1. Visit a financial planner and immediately sock enough away so that I could live off the interest at my current salary + 50% + COLA for the rest of my life.
2. Pay off all my outstanding debts - student and car loans.
3. Pay off my parents’ and brothers’ debts. I’m thinking my older bro with the $50K/year law school bill would be pretty happy.
4. Teach out the year and discuss with the administration the possibility of my teaching half-time the next year with no salary. They could spend the money on something else.
5. As soon as the school year was over and I had the time, plan and build my own house up in the mountains. Straw bale, solar, and other goodies with a studio and whatever else I could think of.
6. TRAVEL. Visit all my friends, take a tour of the US, Europe, maybe Africa.
7. Set up my parents in a comfortable retirement and my foster sister with enough to cover her until she figures her head out.
8. Set up education funds and trusts for relatives and friends’ kids.
9. Throw a really big party and invite EVERYONE! 😃
10. Start setting up charitable foundations and donating money to causes I support. Definitely have something for the kids in this small town - especially the Latinas.
_sigh_ It would be lovely, wouldn’t it?

Mmmmm, sweet, sweet laziness in my own house with multiple TVs and game consoles. Plus I’d have one wicked ass DVD collection. I’d cover a whole wall of my bedroom with them. Sigh. Now damn you for depressing me for I have no money to do that.
