Nope. The name should have been from the start Vanderbilt Stadium/Park/Field. Or just leave it the way it was in the old place, Arlington Stadium.

Okay, let’s rename Dodger Stadium to Chan Ho Park.

I must respectfully disagree with your idiotic and poorly-thought-out notion.

The Celtics, like the Bruins, should (and do any time I am involved in referring to it) play in the New Boston Garden. You can name the locker room or something after Russell, Bird, Orr, Borque, Auerbach or Ted Kennedy if you want, but the arena is forever the New Boston Garden. No renaming Causeway Street, either, by the way.

The Bills should play in OJ Simpson Stadium… then once a year have “Half off night” where they can slash prices… or hand out sunglasses… Or if you pay ful price your partner/lawyer alibi gets in half off…

```
The Carolina Panthers can play in Rae Curruth stadium.. where once a year the fans can bring in drinks of snacks that would fit inside of a trunk.. or maybe strippers can get in free...
```

Wow still working on what the Falcons can do with Mike Vick night… well… thats crossing the line i’m sure…

Just kidding… only problem with naming after people is you have to make sure they are dead… companies ala Enron and the astros are dangerous too…

I think Camden Yards is a great name.

Officially, the current name is Oriole Park at Camden Yards, and i’d be happy if they just got rid of the first three words and kept the last two.

No, naming the arena after Bucky Dent or Albert De Salvo would be idiotic and poorly thought out. Naming it after the greatest player in Celtics history is a perfectly reasonable idea that you’re free not to accept.

I think Kauffman Stadium is the perfect name for the place where the Royals play. At least the team gets one thing right. (OK, Zack Greinke and Joakim Soria, that makes 3.)

The Utah Jazz should play in something called the Mormon Cajun Arena. Just because. And the Los Angeles Lakers should re-name the Staples Center after the nearest natural lake. (Granted, the Clippers play there too, but they don’t draw enough fans to deserve a vote.)

I don’t have any real beef with the “Citi Field” name, but I’d love for them to host a college football game called the “Toilet Bowl”, seeing as it’s located in Flushing.

Little-known fact: For 2 days in 2005, the Garden was officially the Yankees Suck Center.

Off Topic - is there a list somewhere of all those temporary names (which were named via eBay auction)?

The NY logo on the hat needs a white border ala the [Cubs](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:NLC-CHC-Insignia.png). All in all, the Mets have one of the worst unis in all of baseball.
> (snip)
> Generally speaking I just think the Mets need a shot in the arm. Uniforms and stadium names are the obvious places to start.

With all due respect, you are not only dreadfully wrong about giving the Mets a shot in the arm, you also seem to have questionable taste regarding ugly MLB uniforms. Perhaps you’d perfer the [Mercury Mets?](http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_RJnZXOek6bo/Rju-3oq6R4I/AAAAAAAAAKU/vch9ZO3drd4/s320/mercury+mets.JPG)

Seriously, the Mets get more grief for deviating from the classic blue hat & white uniform combo than anything else. With the new retro ballpark, the look of the team should aim for a more classic feel. The “new” [new](http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/mets/2009/11/24/2009-11-24_mets_retro.htmluniform) unis are slightly more retro than what they wore last year. The ownership is also taking steps to honor the team’s history (such as it is) more in this year, as fans were pissed that the new park didn’t seem to have much to do with the Mets as much as it had to do with the Shake Shack.

> If it has to be a more permanent name I’d name it for Bob Murphy and have a bar inside named The Happy Recap.

This is a lovely idea. “Let’s go catch a game at the Murph.” For what it’s worth, the bridge has been named the “Shea Bridge,” so that’s something.

I always liked referring to Giants Stadium as “The Meadowlands.” Without a corporate name, I have no idea what to call the new 2 NFL team stadium. You can’t even go with “New York Football Stadium” considering it’s Jersey location. You can’t name it after a great Giant (Y.A. Tittle Stadium?) without angering the Jets (Namath Field?) The best you can hope for is someone with shared history for both teams. Parcels Field? I don’t like it.

Of course, someone would want to name it 9/11 Memorial field. Not me, but someone.
