Four more died in Illinois last night when their SUV also flipped into a pond. We either need to stop them from driving SUVs or show them that Mythbusters about exiting a sinking vehicle. ---

Smoking. No, seriously. No teenager has ever died from smoking. It doesn’t catch up to them until years later. But if they could watch a few of their peers succumb to lung cancer before their junior prom, they might think twice about lighting up. ---

In third grade, a guy from the fire department came to class to show us a film about fire safety, which was basically a series of gruesome images from the aftermath of fires. Most of them were caused by someone “falling asleep while smoking in bed.” I don’t recall his ever mentioning drunkenness, but now that I think about it, that almost has to be the case. ---
