Remember these things from the '70s/early '80s? You would ride a little go-cart type thing in a concrete half-pipe down a mountain. Do these even exist anymore? Thanks ---

There are at least two that I know of still in operation here in Colorado: At Breckinridge and Winter Park ski resorts. There may be others in the state, and almost assuredly others in the country. ---

AFAIK they are still there, check ski areas. ---

Speed tip - reach forward and grab the handle on the front of the sled. Pull your weight forward over the wheel. BE CAREFUL. You will easily build up enough speed to come out of the pipe, or halfway out and fall back in like I did, getting nice friction burns on my knees. You also need to let the person in front of you get a huge head start, ie this won’t work when there’s a line and you can’t hold everyone behind you up. Enjoy Capn (professional speedfreak) ---

Hmmm. OK, I guess they DO still exist. For some reason I thought they had vanished. I live in New Enlgand and I certainly never see them advertised anywhere. I guess the mountains in Vermont and New Hampshire that I ski at have done away with them! ---
