The Stewart’s drive-in chain is big in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Throughout the rest of the country they sell their branded soft drinks and hot dogs. Great food and drinks. I also like Sonic (although the nearest one is about 60 miles from me) but I never ate in my car there. I always took it home. ---

Throughout upstate New York, there’s quite a few independent hot dog stand and custard-type places that are only open during the summer. Most lack indoor seating; customers order and pick up their food from a counter, and eat on benches or in cars. ---
