With Time Warner planning to start placing bandwidth caps on their Road Runner Internet service, I want to know just how much bandwidth I’m using. But nearly every free Internet usage meter I’ve come across is described as terrible in the user comments.

Does any know of an Internet usage meter that’s good AND free?

I use [Magitime](http://www.tucows.com/preview/226409)(Link goes to the download page at TuCows)

It’s worked perfectly with no problems of any sort.

[Netmeter](http://www.metal-machine.de/readerror/index.php?PHPSESSID=124b267819cd3d45cbdb80870952e95a&page=10) is also worth a look.

Isn’t there a way to get this data directly off your modem?

This is exactly what I’m looking for. Thanks.

Do you know if it works in Vista?
