# What's a zombie thread?

I guessing they are the ones where people continue with similar answers and don’t really discuss much but why do they get closed?

A thread that died\* and has been resurrected.  
Just like Zombies, to suck out more brain and effort.  
\*3 months or so I think.

If you’ve ever been on other boards they’re usually called “necro-posts” or “necro-threads.” In case Dexter’s description wasn’t clear.

If this thread got no more replies and then I posted to it six months from now, it’d be a zombie thread. A dead thread given new life, somewhat ironically by adding a post.

Thanks guys! I’ve never been apart of a message board before so all these terms are quite new.
