What's does Geneva say about fake then real surrender?

Any idea what our procedures are for dealing with (ostensibly) surrendering enemies? I’d imagine a big ol’ M1A1 with its barrel aimed at the troops, personally…

And a little more seriously, shouldn’t there be some “put down your guns and go way the hell over there” aspect to the acceptance of surrender? (Granted, harder to do with several thousand surrendering at once, but still.)

Into what catagory do we place the scumbag who tossed the grenades into the tents?

United States Constitution, Article 3, Section 2:

It’s not a matter of inferior courts. It’s that the Constitution forbids it. Sorry, end of story.

Suspected murderer, so far.

I second what mangeorge said. I applied for the military and flunked the physical; which is probably a good thing, since I would have made a lousy sailor.

That makes me respect our troops more, not less.

Same here. I mean it’s just something I can’t contemplate. The whole thing about if they surrender a second time for real I’m supposed to accept it. They’ve got a lot more self composure than I would in that case and I commend them since it’s the right thing.(Since I would be the type to just obliterate the enemy if they pulled a fake surrender, regardless of what happened afterwards.)

I would like to see a cite for this. Not only will surrendering forces not be allowed to keep their weapons, Rommel has a reputation for following the rules of war.
