C.B.G.B. is a New York nightclub (you probably knew that) and it stands for “COUNTRY, BLUEGRASS, BLUES”.

I think that’s actually “gourmandizer.” A gourmand is a voracious eater (as opposed to a gourmet, who is a discerning eater).

As a regular attendee at CBGB’s, I can attest that the above is true.
Hilly still owns and runs the club, BTW. I’ve never asked what he thinks about the inappropriateness of the name.
