I just finished school after a long hard two years of FT work and PT classes. I have a new kitten–who admittedly I’m just fostering, but who is still stunningly cute. At work we’re finally catching up on our production schedule after a stressful year of being always behind. Now my boss is happy, which means I am also happy. My raise shows up on my paycheck today. Yeah, good times. ---

I got a $800 check from my mortgage company for an escrow over-estimation, and my monthly bill is down $75. My company (small business, I do the books) got a tax return. AND we have more money in the bank right now than we have ever had. Like 1/3 our usual yearly intake is in our account RIGHT NOW. Usually we have nothing and I have to scrape together cash and miss paychecks to pay payroll tax. But I just paid it without worry 🙂 I am getting a really cool item signed by one of my favorite comic actors. It took a little while and persistence with his agent to get it “approved.” Now the ball is rolling and I’m stoked. It’s raining. Which means I don’t have to do any yardwork. So I can take a nap after work if I want, or go to the store, or play with my dog. Dang, everyone has so much to be glad about. May must be a kickass month! ---

Edmund is my absolutely favouritest character evar. One day, some local theatre will put on _King Lear_ and I’ll actually have a chance to play him. Hopefully, sometime before I’m too old and end up having to audition for Lear instead. But Sir Andrew holds special spot for me as well, and I figured it works better as a username than “The Bastard.” ---

I’m glad the board is working again! More important stuff: even though the rent increased more than I wanted it to, my future place in the city seems to be all lined up. I have my Jeopardy tryout Monday and a job interview on Tuesday. My birthday is coming up, and all my friends are doing pretty well. ---

I finally got my new computer desk… which was a total hassle. Store #1: I saw the desk a while back but didn’t have the extra money. When I was ready to buy the desk it’s no longer available. Store #2: Purchased from an ebay store only to be told it’s discontinued. Refund. Store #3: Purchased online, waited 3 weeks to be told it’s discontinued, another 2 weeks for the refund. :mad: Store #4: I’d given up on the desk but by chance I spotted it on [Overstock.com](http://Overstock.com). The listing said “10 left” so I immediately hit “add to cart”. It was half of the 2nd price I paid, $2.95 shipping and to top it off it arrived in 3 days. Another bonus - they added an extra shelf-divider (it wasn’t in the photos or on the parts list). After all that… it was worth it. I dig it. Aside from that… - Mr Johnson picked me up for lunch and I got a quick shoulder massage before heading back to work. - No work 'til Monday. - Today was payday and I had over time. Bigger paycheck. - My mom’s finger problem isn’t arthritis. - I used up all the hot water in a very relaxing shower. Wow… I didn’t realize I had all this to be glad about. 😛 ---

I’m happy that in a month and a half I’ll finally be leaving this awful apartment for a gorgeous place in Verdun, with my own office. I’m happy that, despite basically having to run _everything_, I’m keeping my head above water. I’m happy that this immense translation I’m saddled with will mean that I get to have lots of money when I move in, so I can decorate/get furniture and appliances. I’m happy that another one of Montreal’s gorgeous summers is just about to begin. I’m happy I get to go to two, maybe three different prides this year, even if I have to ORGANIZE one of them. I’m happy the federal party decided to spring for those advertisements we wanted. I’m happy **Larry Mudd** might be moving here. 😃 I’m happy I got to visit the Laval metro yesterday. Health, food on the table, roof over my head, etc. ---

I just moved from a highly congested, loud part of south Florida to peaceful, lovely Key Largo, FL. I’m sitting under my tiki hut right now enjoying a gorgeous evening. I am not wealthy by any means, but pretty much lucked into the whole deal. Life’s good. Plus, we finished all of our moving yesterday, which is a huge relief. I’m glad to be alive. ---

**My wife:** I really did marry my best friend. Cute, intelligent, street-smart, and tough, my wife has brought me further than anyone or anything else in my life. She speaks straight and lets me know when she’s not happy. I would trust her in any situation short of being alone on a romantic island with Darren Kennedy. j/k, I’d trust her then, too. The trust is actually the big thing, because I grew up in a family that was more than a little troubled, and being with someone I can trust and relax around is more important to my peace of mind than anything else. **My job:** I work circulation and reference in an academic library, and I absolutely love it. I like most of the people I work with, and the ones I don’t like, I can handle. I like my bosses, I like the work, and above all, I love the patrons. I even love the bad days. **My location:** Boston is _perfect_ for me. I’m a fast-paced person, and I like learning new things. I currently work during the day and go to school at night. Not only does Boston have a class for everything you could possibly imagine, thanks to the MBTA, it’s easy to get around the city. Contrary to what you might have heard, most of the people are pretty friendly and helpful. We’re used to giving tourists directions, and many of us are quite good at it. On my days off, I like to walk around the common and gardens or hang at the bookstores just chilling out. There are good restaurants on every block, and the downtown Loews movie theater is excellent. I love living here and want to stay for as long as I can. Now that I think about it, my 30’s are turning out to be the best years of my life. My 20’s were hectic, aimless, and weird, and my teens were simply abysmal. I as happy and productive as I’ve ever been, and it feels as if I’m gearing up for my 40’s quite nicely. Other than my health (Thanks to all that studying and working and my wife’s great cooking, I’m significantly overweight), I don’t have too many complaints.
