Maybe it’s that the houses are right on the edge of a cliff? It doesn’t really seem all that funny to me, either… ---

Get the frame of the picture where it’s just below the houses and just above the beach, right on the cliff. Now get the drainpipe on the cliff in the center of your screen, scrolled up to where it just barely shows the fence of the house above it, and doesn’t show the beach below. Stare at the screen for a while. ---

Could it be the contrast of the trashy house in the middle right part of the picture? Or could it be the creature creeping out of the primordial ooze on the beach far left?
