I regularly call a friend who has Nomorobo that blocks calls from unknown numbers. Grrrrr. ---

My Pixel phone uses my contact list. If a phone number is on that list then it assumes it is ok. Other numbers are allowed too but some it blocks as spam. Mostly Google has done a great job. I get maybe one or two spam calls per week. The main point though is being able to let your friend’s call get through. ---

Before I got a dedicated number through Skype, it would show up as various numbers so they couldn’t be whitelisted. Once I got a Skype number, it had the same number each time and was OK.
