# What's happened to John McLaughlin?

McLaughlin was one of the old-school Republicans and he retained that sensibility while his party went kaboom through the years. I’m going to miss him.

Was there no episode of the McLaughlin group this week? I assume the name of the show will have to change if the show continues.

McLaughlin apparently wanted the show to end with him. According to this [article](http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/mclaughlin-group-ending-john-mclaughlin-dead-1201840146/), it’s over. He’s quoted, saying:
