I have a bathroom reader-it’s not uncle johns, but it has a white cover and I think it’s called the great bathroom reader III, I had the other 2 in there, but they’ve been read, so…
I also have a diving magazine and an HP Lovecraft anthology book.
I’ve gotten go with Plnnr on this: I have no books there and have no interest in reading there. I know it takes some people a longer time to do their business, but (TMI alert) if I’m in the bathroom on the toilet for more than about a minute and a half (and that includes time for dropping pants, wiping, refastening pants, etc.), then someone better call an ambulance because I have probably keeled over with a stroke or heart attack or something.
I have too many other rooms in the house that I’d rather spend time in.

Speak for yourself! In my flat, it’s probably the most comfortable seat; certainly it’s the best lit room in the place. No TV, no phone, no silly questions, no expectations from anyone else. Bliss!

Then you have bigger problems than your digestive tract.
My whole family leaves reading stuff in the bathroom…nothing like going to one and found in the shelves some book about civil law or The Economist…I only read them when I was really bored. Otherwise it was newspapers, comic books, or books like The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings.
Now that I live alone…the Friday newspaper I get delivered for free and an all-sciences handbook my grampa gave me years ago. Sometimes the monthly free newspapers or the Portuguese antology of crônicas book.
I have all the Calvin & Hobbes books, four Bloom County books, two Far Sides.
I also have two Uncle John’s Bathroom Readers, two Straight Dopes, George Carlin’s Brain Droppings, Richard Lederer’s Anguished English and a few others that I can’t think of off the top of my head. I’m trying to figure a way to put a bookshelf in there.
I usually have a stack of old comic books; I buy them cheap on eBay a lot but don’t find myself with a lot of time to read them.
Right now it’s a couple of Action Comics Weeklies, a D.C. anthology title from the late 80’s.

Guys, it normally takes me about a minute and a half, as you said (my TMI for the week), but hey, that’s a minute and a half I get to spend reading. It’s my only chance at solitude, one of my few chances to read a book. The rest of the time, people will be demanding my attention.
When I used to take public transportation to work, I had plenty of time to just sit and read. Now I drive to work. If I can squeeze in a few extra minutes of reading a day, doggone it, I welcome the opportunity.
