**The family-use living room computer:** Monitor: Nothing Tower: Two floppy disks and my big-ass headphones Scanner: A bunch of Mom’s file folders and notebooks **My personal computer in my bedroom:** Monitor: Two dirty bowls, a dirty mug, a Heimlich (from _A Bug’s Life_) that says “OOH! Candy corn! I hate performing on an empty stomach!” when you slam him into something, and a framed picture of Gunslinger Tower: Two floppy disks and a Moonpie wrapper ---

On top of the monitor, a “kilroy was here” kinda thingy, on the tower are a library book (for those slow loading times), some bills I am hiding from my SO, and two CD-RW backup disks. ---

Atop monitor: a small Snoopy doll with kung fu grip, 2 packs of Marlboro, 3 lighters (1 of which works), 1 book of Albertson brand matches, genie head/plastic sword magic trick from old Jack in the Box kids meal, several crayon drawings from my kids, 4 month old receipt from Walmart, empty checkbook, various sticky notes, Stone Temple Pilots cd case without cd or lining, old print out of AD&D’s 1st edition monk class information. Atop tower: my legs. ---

There’re three things on top of my monitor… a funky-looking elephant figurine, a Buddha figurine (a theatre in-joke), and my microphone (for my voice-recognition software). Right now, on the computer’s case, is a small booklet of cross-hatching artwork I got in my Illustration class. When I get the digital camera back from my idiot brother, I’ll take a picture for all the world to see. I personally love the backdrop for my computer setup… in the background, on the wall, are 20 boxes from old computer games that I’ve gotten in the past. It’s cool as hell. ---

On top of the monitor: Prance the cat, Pounce the cat. Chip the cat, Magic the dragon and Scorch the dragon. Also, a nameless non-Beanie purple dragon with iridescent blue wings. On top of the tower: Crayola Big Box of 96 crayons with built-in sharpener and _Plan B_ by Sharon Lee & Steve Miller. ---

For all you Beanie fans, pride of place on _my_ monitor is reserved for Fi and Do, my [Dalmutation](http://beseen.net/alldeckedout/meanies/fido.jpg) [Meanie Baby](http://www.meaniebabies.com). He’s guarding my DNE (“Does Not Exist”) floppy…it’s a \ “password recovery” utility. He’s also being eyed with unease by a tiny toy koala that my boss-before-last gave me when he returned from the Olympics. ---

Moniter: Nothing, but I have shelf that has my DSL modem a DSL splitter (switch,gateway or hub, I dunno my friend set it up) and my mobile phone. To my left however I have a $200 Cubs Mr PotatoHead and a bunch of other shit I spent too much for (not in the “isn’t cute” sense, but in the “crimany man! what were you thinking?” sense). I also have a wall of “lost expectations” loooking down at me. And I got a really cool mousepad. So cool. Jedi cool. ---

I’ve just got one of those squishy rubber Gateway cows on top of my monitor. Last year there was an exchange student from Japan living across the hall from me, and she wanted to know what my cow’s name was. It didn’t have one, so I asked her what the Japanese word for “cow” is. It’s “Ushi”, so my cow is now “Ushi the Squishy Cow”. ---

I suppose I’m the most boring one of this bunch… On my computer: A Magic 8 Ball, and the monitor. It’s also where I keep my pager when I’m at work. On my monitor: An air freshener (solid, alternates between citrus and vanilla), and a gift from my hubby: a little frame with a card inside that says, “Wherever you are, whatever you do, you’re always in my heart.” ---
