More than I realized, once I actually looked at it:

Everything is attached to a University of Maryland lanyard.
Car key for my car
Remote for same
Car key for **El Perro Fumando** ’s car
House key
House deadbolt key
Mailbox key
Parents’ house key\*
File cabinet key\*
Giant Food barcode\*
Dicks Sporting Goods barcode
CVS Pharmacy barcode\*
Driving Range ball dispenser electronic key

\*Maybe I’ll take these off the main keyring as they almost never get used.

I have more keychains than keys.

The center ring is a big brass ring with a large brass butterfly fob, which was a gift from my first AA sponsor more than 20 years ago.

Dangling from this:

[ul][li]My one-year NA glow-in-the-dark key chain (20 years old) with front door key (with plastic thingy around the head so I can find it by touch) plus back door key.[/li][li]An unmarked metal ring with the car key and the key to the theft-deterrent-club-knockoff, with a ball chain type keychain from which dangles a Pac-Man shaped piece of Corian with a thumb-sized dent in it (intended as a fidget-piece/promo for architects/builders, and a gift from **rocking chair** , who works for architects, at a Dopefest about four years ago).[/li][li]Key to the front door at work, attached to a ring with a white leather fob, souvenir of Buckingham Palace, gift from a coworker about 10 years ago. [/li][li]A metal keychain from an NA state conference (1987) with 9 metal rabies shot tags from my cat.[/li][li]A small brass key I don’t recognize. Guess I could take this off.[/li][li]Miniature magic wand (plastic tube with glittery stuff in it); gift from an NA sponsoree, many, many years ago.[/li][li]A key holder of a design I’ve never seen before with an enameled “souvenir of Greece” fob, gift of a gentleman I’m currently “dating.”[/li][li]Plastic Chuck E. Cheese key fob. (This dates back to my time in Florida, 1983-84, and I can’t believe it’s still intact).[/ul][/li]
Laugh if you must – I can find the three keys I use regularly (front door at home, car, and front door at work) completely by touch.

And I never lose my keys.

After having been chastised by a friend for having a bunch of heavy keys hanging from my car’s ignition switch, I now carry on one ring:

Car fob
Car key
Husband’s car key
Little bell made from metal from Cambodian land mine

And in my key case, I have:
Office key
Key to friend’s house
House deadbolt key
Front doorknob key
Front storm door key
Garage door key
A bunch of those little key-chain size swipe cards (debit card, library card, “loyalty” cards for the grocery store and drugstore.)

Keys to:
my house
my storage locer padlocks
post office box
office building
office door
office yard gate padlock
my Frod
my lock box (for “important papers”
file cabinet (4-drawer, legal-size)
desk drawer
my late Mom’s house 900 miles away which I sold 12 years ago
3 locks of which I have absolutely no memory

One remote clicker for my Frod

Plastic frequent flyer discount Orwellian snooper cards for:
Staples
Hallmark
CVS
Lowe’s Foods
Books-A-Million
Food Lion
Office Depot
My Frod dealer’s towing service

And only twice in my memeory has the weight of the mess turned off the ignition key of my car while I was driving it, leaving me wondering WTF, until I jiggled it.

That should have said, locker and memory.

And I haven’t listed the (mostly duplicate, spare) items on the other ring that hangs from my belt. I’ve carried a spare car key ever since the first and last time I locked my keys in the car.

I agree. I wish everything in my life could be coded to one opener, preferably a card of some sort. Barring that, I have two house keys (different locks), an office key, a filing cabinet key that I’m thinking of hiding in my office, the car key, and, since it’s winter, the remote starter fob, which is really clunky.

Since I pared it down recently:

1 car key
1 apartment key
1 mailbox key
1 key to parent’s house
1 Kroger discount card

All on my UK logo keychain.

Before I cut it down, I also had the ignition and door keys to my old truck on there, along with an eagle’s head medallion keychain I got as a gift while in high school.

My key chain holds, the key to the back door of my family’s house (we rarely use the front door,) the key to my dorm room and the key to my bike lock.

The key chain itself is a red plastic circle. On one side, is [this design](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7a/Transmutation_circle.png) in white while the other is [this symbol](http://www.livejournal.com/userpic/33872839/633835) in black with the words “FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST” under it.

So far **Ignatz** holds the lead. And, for the record, I’m **really** not going to arm wrestle someone who (a) packs such a heavy-duty keychain and (b) chucks bricks at Krazy Kat.

I sort my keys on three rings that are on a blue carabiner.

ring #1: Home
key to my mother’s house
antique skeleton key
random bike lock key

ring #2: Car
car remote (buttons for lock, unlock, and trunk open functions. Nope, no panic button.)
key to the doors/trunk
ignition key
some random key that probably opens my neighbor’s front door (he sold me the car.)

ring #3: convenience
128mb Lexar Jump Drive
11 different scanner cards that fit on a key chain (listed below):
GNC
my current residence’s library system
Borders
Men’s WearHouse (the fiance’s sizes are programmed onto the fob’s bar code)
my last residence’s library system
Petsmart
CVS
Albertson’s
Books A Million
Winn Dixie
Petco

I have too many of those “scanner” fobs.

I have

5 or 6 keys
3 tags for the gym (me and two kids)
one tag for the supermarket
a tiny LED flashlight
a Lego Darth Vader keychain; his cape is torn
I used to have a really nice Pope keychain, but it broke.
