Nah, it doesn’t look like anything.
Probably a good choice would be the spoon-cherry

Baltimore: syringe
That was the first thing that popped into my mind.
But i think there are some other views that locals might prefer.
Maybe Federal Hill, or the Inner Harbor. Personally, i’d stump for Mt. Vernon and the Washington Monument. Or perhaps a car running a red light.
And a 1955 calendar to show what the current year is in DM.
Chicago - A lawn chair sitting in a shoveled out parking space on a snow filled street.
Boise, Idaho- They’d probably show the Idaho State Capitol Building. Either that, or the Boise Train Depot, which stands at the opposite end of Capitol Blvd. from the Capitol and is considered by some to be Boise’s signature landmark.
Our HS Prom was there. The carpet in the “Mistake on the Lake” is a combination of 1970’s worst colors (rusty orange, teal, purple, and the like) and modern design. Now add in a bunch of HS girls and the rainbow of colors that prom dresses come in. Prom looked like the kid who ate crayons puked everywhere.
I hate that carpet!
I got a “Forbidden” message when I clicked that link. For those who were similarly foiled, try this view.
no, it’d be a passed-out student next to a broken liquor bottle and a condom, duh.
But then, that might be a bit indistinguishable from most other college towns…
How about… The Football AND basketball National Championship Logos
Montgomery, AL: I’d opt for the Alabama Shakespeare Festival (mainly because most people don’t associate $50 million Shakespearean theaters with Alabama), but I’m guessing they’d go either with the capitol or, if it was election year, Rosa Parks or Jefferson Davis, depending on who they were pandering to the most at the time.
AAAH! I’m so sick of Russel! I thought I escaped his artsy wrath when I left! Yeah, it was great at first, but when yer inundated with ‘Russel this’ and ‘Russel that’, it gets annoying.
You couldn’t go to a restaurant and not see a ‘Russel Special’ on the menu. :smack:
Tripler
I’ll happily take Lewie & Clark any day.
Birmingham(AL): Vulcan
If he ain’t got pointy ears, he ain’t no Vulcan in my book.
Houston, TX
Either the NASA logo or the San Jacinto monument.
Well, Farifax, Virginia hardly amounts to a “major mity” but there is only one choice of historic landmark in my city. The Fairfax County Courthouse is the oldest courthouse in the United States that is still in use as a court. Juvenile and Domestic Relations hearings are still held in the original courtroom, restored to it’s earliest known appearance. Multiple new and very large buildings surround it now. They have George Washington’s Will there, where it was originally submitted for probate.

Houston would probably have some spaceship crap. I’m really sick of that, especially since none of that stuff is really in Houston. Or, if they were feeling retro, something to do with cowboys, although even the people who held on for years thinking we were some sort of cowtown have mostly given up, or died.
An honest one would have a mess of refineries and the ship channel.
My hometown of Tacoma should have “Galloping Gertie”, the first bridge across the Tacoma Narrows. The locals would probably want the current bridge or the new double bridge.
