For the past couple of years I had a closeup of one of our orchid flowers. I don’t look at my desktop much, since I tend to leave certain programs open all the time, and everything I use regularly has a quick launch off the tool bar. Who knows how long this will stay up? ---

At home, a picture of some storm clouds at sunset that I took in my front yard. All poofy and pink and orange and purple and really intense looking. At work, a picture of some rapids in a creek at Rocky Mountain National Park that I took while we were on vacation this summer. Makes me wish I was back there. ---

I have an ad for Black Cat cigarettes, similar to [this one](http://www.buddelbini.de/tin-sign/cigarettes-tobacco-smoking/metal-sign_blackcat-cigarettes_392.html). Why? I have a black cat who looks very much like the one in the ad–same eye colour, same ear shape, same stocky build. Lacking a photo of her, I picked up the next best thing from somewhere on the Internet. ---

[this](http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/9187/backcatalogwallpaperjpgjf4.jpg) picture, which I found while picture-googling something totally unrelated. I thought it was a neat picture, so now it’s my background. There are naked bottoms in the picture, but it’s artistic and work safe. It just may not be obnoxious kid sister safe. ---

My Saturday mornings of late have been spent volunteering down at a local animal shelter that specializes in rehabilitating abused and abandoned collies.
