Rivera claimed to be a former Jesuit, etc. However, he never even finished high school (for a scholarly order like the Jesuits, there’s no way he’d be accepted!), that the Catholic church was the Illuminati, etc. ---

H’uh? The Man in Black is so inaccurate it’s ridiculous. I mean, Father DAMIEN??? D’uh! Not to mention, a REAL priest would be extremely well-educated, and would be able to stomp this garbage Chick spews. Let’s start, shall we? -Constantine-was NOT the “Last great Emperor”, and he was NEVER a POPE for crying out loud! He didn’t even convert until his deathbed! -No KING was ever a Pope. And Popes never EVER claimed to be Christ on Earth. -The KKK is notoriously anti-Catholic. For the Church to have behind them makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. That six-headed whore thing is cool, though. (Also, the Rosary doesn’t worship anyone but God. The first stanza is straight from the Bible-what was said to Mary by the Angel Gabriel and what her cousin Elizabeth told her. Then the last part, says, ‘PRAY FOR US’-in other words, we aren’t praying to Mary, but asking HER to pray for us, which means that she worships God as do we. Chick is a dumbass). ---

If he gaves cites to things that were publicly available and tried to explain his reasoning, we could better point out his errors in detail. As it is, when a Chick-proponent comes around (not that this happens too often) we have to settle for broad condemnations. Those work fine for those of us who can reject his reasoning easily, but it would be nice to know the specific reasons behind his rantings so we could discredit them with the fundie evangelicals who support him as well. ---

On a first date a couple years ago, I went to the girl’s house, and saw a bunch of Chick tracts lying on the floor. Talk about a bad sign. Oh, and you cannot have a Chick tract thread without mentioning [this classic](http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0069/0069_01.asp). ---

You know, I always get a kick out of how easily persuaded the people in these tracts are. I seem to remember one where a Christian walks up to an Islamic fundamentalist and tells him, “Hey, Islam is wrong, you should be Christian.” The Muslim says, basically, “Well holy shit, I guess I was wrong. Now I’ll be a Christian.” You get the feeling that you could walk up to Joe Fickle in a week or so, tell him, “Hey, Christianity is bogus. You should be worshipping the Holy Pickle God, Vlassic, unless you want to burn in a fiery abyss for all time”, and he’d believe you. I wonder if Senor Chick believes the world actually works the way he portrays it, or if it’s just a -ahem- “literary” device?
