You poor sap. Unicorns are a myth!
But… I thought we were talking about the mythical Normandy invasion… Or was it legendary?
Adolf Hilter (changed for business reasons).
I don’t know. I can think of various other what if scenarios:
What if Charles Martel hadn’t stopped the Muslim invasion of Europe
What if the mensheviks had won control of the USSR instead of the bolsheviks.
What if Jesus had gone down in history as just another one of the peripheral messiahs hanging around Israel 2000 years ago.
I assume we do it because the Nazis have become the go to definition of evil and totalitarianism, so the idea that it could’ve been stopped by something relatively minor (like Hitler getting accepted into art school, or the 1932 elections seeing the social democrats not cede as much power to the Nazis, etc) means that hundreds of millions of people would’ve suffered far less. It is basically an example of the butterfly effect.
Unfortunately for the Nazis, they were committed to the Eastern front to battle Stalin’s hordes of gorilla-human hybrids.
Well, they’d already started messing about with werewolves and fed their troops methamphetamine in large quantities. Since they were at least notionally cooperating with Japan, I think they would have been far more likely to unleash a horde of ninja-trained meth-crazed werewolves. Possibly wearing monocles and pickelhabue.
