# What's that song in the Land Rover commercials?

If you’ve seen any of their recent commercials, you know what I mean–it’s a sort of punkish rock sounding tune; it sounds like a very barebones band of three people banging away on a bass, guitar, and drums, playing a simple 3-chord rock tune. The earlier commercials had singing but I couldn’t really understand the lyrics, but the current version just has the instruments.

Is that a real song by a real band, or whas it just invented for the ads?

It’s “Have Love, Will Travel” by the [Sonics](http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:l2j97i6jg77r). 60s USA garage band.

If it’s the commercial I think you’re talking about.

I’m quite surprised to learn that it was an authentic 1960s garage band. For some reason it had a retro feel to me, as of a contemporary band of young guys trying for a retro sound.
