There are a lot of other reasons why it’s incredibly unlikely that any of the stories of a rat or finger or anything else of that kind in fast food (or in any food product bought from a store) could be true. Look, I despise fast food chains. They may or may not be guilty of allowing dangerous bacteria in their food. They may or may not be guilty of underpaying their employees and the farmers who supply their food. Their food may or may not be unhealthy. They may or may not be guilty, because of policies like this, of causing changes which are for the worse in American (and world) society. But one thing they don’t do is allow large items like fingers or rats to fall into their food. There are too many safeguards against that.

When people waste their time talking about absurd stories about fast food like the finger in the Wendy’s chili, they just make it harder to get people to listen to the real horror stories about the effect of fast food on health, the economy, and the state of the world. Read _Fast Food Nation_ by Eric Schlosser for some information about this. Worrying about these absurd lawsuits against fast food companies letting large items fall into their food is so counterproductive to real discussion on the effects of fast food that, if I ran a fast food chain and had no morals, I would regularly pay someone a million dollars under the table to sue the chain with some ridiculous story about a finger or a rat or whatever in the chain’s food. Then I would easily expose the falsity of the story and self-righteously proclaim that this showed that fast food chains were martyrs to low-life scum like the person who made up this story.

I will second the \*\*Farmer Boy’s \*\* recommendation. Wonderful food. Not fast-food, per se. But good food fast. In fact, I think I’m going to hie myself to the local one and have lunch right now! 😃

The following McBurgers come standard with mustard:
Hamburgers and Cheeseburgers (And doubles, and triples…)
Quarter Pounders (and variants thereof)
Homestyle Burger

The following don’t:
Big N’ Tasty
Big Mac

Thanks for your time.

To answer the poll, if left to my own devices, I’ll pick either Taco Bell or Wendys. Wendy’s has cheap baked potatoes and I like the caesar side salads. Taco Bell has cheap things that serve as a vessel to transport fire sauce from the packet to my GI tract. 🙂
