It’s rated 5 stars in every newspaper. Siskel and Ebert gave it two thumbs up. The previews looked alright, theres no one in the cast you hate. The story sounds interesting enough. And everyone you know recoils in horror when they find out that you still just haven’t seen \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_. For me its **Atonement**. ---

\*The Maltese Falcon Network\* most of the great silent films The only Hepburn/Tracy (together) films I’ve seen have been _Desk Set_ and _Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?_ I’ve possibly seen all of _Casablanca_ but never in one sitting The many supposedly brilliant foreign films that I’ve never seen include _400 Blows_ or anything by _Ingmar Bergman_, _Truffault_ or _Fellini_. ---

Anything by Polanski; I’m not watching until he dies. I have a DVD set of every Bergman film that I haven’t watched yet. I’ll get to that soon. I haven’t seen _The Last Picture Show_, _The 400 Blows_, or _Nashville_ yet, though I have all the DVDs. There are a lot of films out there that other people think are great but I’ll probably never watch because they look like shite to me. The most recent one that comes to mind is _Juno_. I want to remove my brain and scrub it with Comet whenever I see a preview for that or hear someone talking about it. ---

What the hell? I swear I just posted and saw my post and now it’s gone. Anyway, I said _Chinatown_. Pretty sure I know the entire plot and twists so I don’t feel the need to see it. Haven’t seen any of this years nominees. Don’t get to go to the movies much since marriage and the kids. I’ll try to see them on DVD. ---

Thirty-five if I count the Godfather and LotR trilogies separately, which they didn’t. Ouch. One of the stranger lists I’ve seen, though. The Jeff Goldblum Fly? Really? ---

A lot of recent scorsese; The Aviator, The Departed… Just cant be bothered. My tolerance for 2hrs+ movies has waned in recent times, for me, these days, any movie over 85mins doesnt get looked at. Time constraints, see? Needless to say, not a lot of 85min movies are 5star masterworks. ---

And the 1986 _The Singing Detective_ wasn’t a “movie” at all; it was a TV miniseries. ---
