# What's the best treatment for a mouth ulcer?

Don’t use toothpaste with SLS.  
Theres a topical you can get from your MD that has  
benadryl and i think keflex, it’s called KBX suspension.

I found that letting a Phillips Milk of Magnesia tablet dissolve against the sore is quite effective, as well.

Well then i don’t have herpes.🙂  
All of mine are always well within my mouth,often in an impossible to apply medication position like behind upper molars.

What type of virus causes the ones within the mouth?

i didn’t read all the posts…

but there is medication to ease the pain.  
ambesol in canada.

I call them canker sores.  
i hear rinsing your mouth with warm salt water gets rid of the sore in a day or two.

listerine works well too but takes a little longer to get rid of.

check out your local pharmacy and find medication for canker sores. basically it numbs the area around the canker sore… feels like you were at the dentist…
