Shryn King, it’s time to visit your local animal shelter or Petsmart on adoption day. A cat-less house is awful.
Only thing to add is that my cats seemed to love hearing an Audiobook (The Kite Runner, 7 hrs worth!) when I drove from MI to VA (11 hours drive). Whenever the disk would end, the plaintive howling would begin, only to be quieted when the new disk began.
They also seemed more upset at stop & go traffic than sailing on the open road. I would choose the route that will bring you into the least street traffic.
I drugged mine to the gills and they were still plenty loud. If they had been undrugged it would not have been possible.
Did no one else think of a cat carrier, a few bungee cords, and a JATO thruster…?
