What's the big deal about Oxycontin?

I realize that most of this is subjective, but I actually prefer the mostly-morphine-and-a-bit-of-codeine mixture of poppy pods to artificial OCs. 95% of the time, nausea comes from taking too large of a dose with not enough tolerance; it doesn’t have much to do with the specific drug, IME. In fact, the worst I ever had it was from taking a 40mg OC when I had no tolerance at all. I was puking several times an hour for eight hours straight!

Heroin is still supposed to be the king as far as pleasurable effects go, but that’s the path to lose-everything-you-own-then-die addiction, so I’ll never touch that shit.

Does it work on 8 year old zombies?

Spammy link reported. (mybackhurts)

Not anymore. Its now Schedule II.

ETA: Why did this thread pop up in New Posts if the last post was 8 years ago?

Spammer.

the thread reviver was promoting narcotourism, going to foreign countries to get opioids. Good riddance.

Good riddance indeed! People should get there opioids right here in the good 'ol US of A!

Support your local drug dealer.

Trying to drum up business?

I’ve got more than I can handle as is. Qadgop’s the name, buprenorphine is the game.

He doesn’t deal drugs, he just prescribes them.

And his customers don’t even pay him! What a bad businessman!

I was taking Oxycodone a couple of months ago after a knee replacement. It finally came down to a decision between pain relief and taking a shit. As usual the ass always wins.

I quit cold turkey after two weeks of use. 36 hours of feeling downright miserable (besides the fact that my bowels still didn’t work) followed by two more weeks of wondering whether my sense of taste or smell would return to normal.

Addicts just love that stuff. While I like to party just as much as the next irresponsible asshole I want nothing to do with it.

I shit you not (see what I did there) that as states crack down on pill mills, oxy addicts have started taking massive amounts of Imodium instead

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/11/health/imodium-opioid-addiction.html

Since this is back, apparently the new thing is W-18, which according to the breathless media exceeds Oxy in power by “a hillion jillion times.”

My nefarious plans are back in action. I just need an excuse to get a prescription.

Buy local, back alley meth lab - to - table! #knowbetterdrugsdobetterdrugs

Great. One more OTC drug that’s going to end up back behind the counter and subject to a bunch of stupid purchase restrictions. Now the state’s going to have a historical record of every time I get the chocolate fountain, all because a few oxtards dose their way to a megacolon.

I’ve been on opioids for 11 years.

Hydrocodone (Vicodin)
Then
Hydromorphone
Now
Morphine

They barely control pain - and I am taking (or was, until the great DEA smack-down of 'scripts) some serious dosages.

Demerol was the only thing that had a psychotropic effect. And I don’t want that effect.

Heh, in the veterinary ER game, it’s methadone (outpatients) and fentanyl (hospitalized).

QtM, did you see this article about implanted sustained release buprenorphine?
