What's the biggest home improvement job you've done?

I haven’t done too much, but that is only because I’m still fairly young. Right now I’m helping my mom remodel the kitchen, which involves moving around some pipes, installing several light fixtures, doing the floor, painting, stripping and restaining the cabinets, whatever. It really is incredibly fun to do things yourself.

I “built” my desk. Small yes, but hey I live in a 12X12’ apartment.

I couldn’t actually cut the wood as I had neither the tools, practice, nor place for execution. But the design of the desk (i.e. what size planks and where to cut them) was done by myself, as was drilling holes, screwing, glueing, and all that fun stuff.

Oddly it didn’t seem to save me much money. But it did allow me to have the perfect desk.
