# What's the deal with Governement grants?

So what’s the deal with this so called “free” money I am always getting in the email these days. I wondering if that is actually a legitamate program, or was it just a scam? Any information will be most helpful, prefferable from people with experience. Thanks all!!!

You are getting free money in the mail? Can I have some?

I think we’ll need more detail about the “program” before we can say anything useful. Work at home schemes? Chain letters?

No, just something about ther gov’t giving away cash. I have to say I have my suspicions, but then again, I know how the gov’t spends like crazy on things…

The government (federal, state and local) and some private charities have a vast array of programs promoting various things. Things like weather proofing your house to starting small businesses. There are people who will charge money for lists of programs or for helping you file for these programs.
