I stand corrected. You are right. According to this cite -  
[Do the Amish pay taxes?](http://www.amish-heartland.com/aboutamishq.html)

The Amish do not have to pay taxes, unless it is for Self-Employment Tax. I will scrub the PA tax code to see what applies to this situation (the common conception in my area is that the Amish do not pay taxes).
