As a child? No idea. As an adult, that would be the scene in **Babe** when the farmer sang and danced to get Babe to start eating again. My friends remind me of this with some regularity. ---

**The Jungle Book,** oddly enough (Disney, animated). I was about 7. Either Mowgli or the girl apparently died, but got better shortly thereafter. Almost a formula for Disney… ---

Every Christmas season, I make sure to schedule two and a half hours when nobody is around to watch \*\*Love Actually \*\*and sob over the Beach Boys singing \*\*God Only Knows \*\*at the end. Wish I weren’t such a shameful sobber. ---

Another for E.T. I was eight or nine at the time. It made me so horribly sad that I’ve refused to ever watch the movie again in the 29 years since it was released. ---
