In a college newspaper, a student cartoonist did a parody of those horrible Family Circus cartoons where one of the children zigzags all over the neighborhood (similar to [this](http://breckyunits.com/narratives-misrepresent-complex-systems.html)). In the parody, the family’s dad has just been fired by his boss. “You’re fired! Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.” Rather than a circuitous route, the dad takes a direct path across the street to a bar. He is totally trashed and he says, “kids shay the darndesht thingzh.” ---

I can’t think of a particular one at the moment but have no doubt it is a Far Side cartoon. ---

For me, this is easy. There’s been a lot of great cartoons in this thread, but this Far Side cartoon is the one that does it for me. [This](http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qag1GWyIZvs/Syuexee7MOI/AAAAAAAAAIU/bRsgkxIqcfs/s320/far-side-duck.jpg) For those who don’t want to click the link, it shows a ship sinking in the background and a (wet) professor-type climbing onto a tiny island. There’s a duck there. The duck says “Ah, Professor Jenkins. My old nemesis. We meet again. But this time, the advantage is mine. HA HA HA!” It’s typical Far Side absurdism, but somehow the whole concept gives me the giggles just thinking about it ---

One that always killed me was The Far Side. There were 3 Poodles watching their owner from behind, and one says something to the effect of, " Well, yes Fluffy, when we kill her the pampering will end." I always imagine my own dogs having that conversation… ---

Alas, I can’t locate it online to show you. It was a Mother Goose and Grimm comic, and you see Grimm holding a can opener. The table before him contains dozens of opened cans of fruits and vegetables. He’s looking at a cat saying something very close to “Guess what, I learned how to use a can opener! The only problem is I still can’t read.” ---

My favorite from that strip shows a teddy bear bouncing around screamin lyrics like “Feel the heat baby!!” Grimm, in the last panel, says how much he loves putting KISS tapes in a Teddy Ruxpin.
