I’m a lampoon fan, a Kliban fan etc. I even liked Dennis the Menace single panels. But I can’t see where the superlative wit comes in here. If you look at the back of the New Yorker, they have a contest for cartoon captions. Sorry, but I have rarely seen an entry in those that wasn’t better than almost any of these. Really. ---

Ok; fair enough if you don’t care for Larson, Addams, Thurber, and some of the others posted, and prefer Dennis the Menace and whatever else. But what’s the point in coming into the thread just to tell everyone else how much their contributions suck? ---

IMHO, the best Dennis the Menace cartoons occurred when they were inadvertently crossed with The Far Side. Another Far Side one: We see what is supposed to be “god” as a small child. He has just tried to create his first chicken. [spoiler]It didn’t work… The chicken has just _ **exploded** _! Feathers are drifting all through the room… The (understated) look on the kid’s face is priceless.[/spoiler] ---

There is a bus stop at the entrance to the cemetery, and the buzzer is notifying the driver that a passenger wishes to alight at said bus stop. Took me ten seconds, but then again I’m a huge Charles Addams fan. ---
