Too many. I’m sure **Cheez\_Whia** will be in here to elaborate on the predilictions of the one responsible for half of my genetics. IIRC, it included (but was certainly not limited to) a VW Bus, a Beetle, a Fiat (I believe a major point of contention family-wide), an Audi, and a few others. ATM there are two Hondas (A Civic and Accord), a Saturn station wagon, a 70’s Chevy truck, a Ford LTD station wagon, a 70’s Thunderbird, a 1979 Toyota Corolla, and a 1993 Plymouth Sundance (also known as **FrankenCar, The Bruinmobile, and The Millenium Falcon** - it is a legendary car, and will probably have a eulogy soon). FWIW, there are three seperate families living here and used to be four. The last two cars are ours. The first two belong to my sister in law and her husband. The truck, Saturn and T-bird are my husband’s parents, and the LTD (AKA the **BandWagon** ) belongs to my husband’s sister’s boyfriend who was also the bassist in my husband’s band. They moved, the car stayed. Phew! I bet that was WAY more than you wanted to know! Oh and we have a dirtbike and will soon (err, sometime before we die, anyways) have a new crotch-rocket. And I want an old Triumph. And I’m gonna get it, too! ---

Jesus, 14 at once is a bit excessive. I think 5 at once. I have 3 brothers and we all lived at home and we all had cars 1996 Ford Taurus (moms) 1977 Ford F-150 (dads spare truck) 1996 Geo Metro (older brothers) 1995 Dodge Neon (younger brothers) 1995 Ford Taurus (mine) I thought there was a 6th car, but I guess not. Right now my parents have 4 cars between the two of them, the same 96 taurus, 96 metro as well as a mini-van and another truck to replace the F-150. ---

My memory is a little hazy, but at one time my dad had the following collection. 2 Harley Davidsons 2 Malibus 3 Corvairs ('65, '62, and um…'64) 1 Suzuki Sidekick ('92) (this was actually mine) 1 Dodge Neon ('96) 1 Dodge Ram ('98) 1 Jeep Cherokee ('76) 1 Scout ---

The most is 4. My Dad had bought a newer Volvo 940 estate before he was able to sell on the old 740. At the same time he had an old bike (which I think was roadworthy, almost) and my Mum had her small Renault Clio. ---

Man, I came in here thinking I would do good, since I grew up on a ranch and had a lot of “vehicles”, but you guys win. Just for posterity, the most vehicles I can remember are White 4-door Ford pickup Brown early 80’s lincoln white 81 VW rabbit Green ancient chevy truck red gmc truck, ran well but had no doors, or glass, had been in rollover accident Red Rosie, our 1950’s dumptruck 2 tractors with hydraulic lifts. One had a cab and the hydraulic lift part was permanent, and the other did not have a cab and you could take the lifts on and off 2 swathers (sp?) 3 motorcycles, various vintages and makes that I don’t remember 13 vehicles, all running, these were for a working ranch. I don’t suppose wheel lines count, while technically they were motor powered, they weren’t exactly fast or stearable. This does not count the vehicles owned by the hired help, while they were used for ranch business, they did not belong to the family. ---

OK, let’s see if I can remember the max load of vehicles… 1950 Cadillac deVille 1956 Oldsmobile 1966 VW Transporter sans engine 1966 Chevy truck that used vise grips in place of a door handle 1972 Ford truck 1965 VW squareback 1971 Audi 100 A Honda 90 trailbike 2 3-wheel atvs CZ motorcycle And the family monstrosity you mention wasn’t a Fiat, it was something French that escapes me at the moment. Your Aunt Cynthia called it “The Silver Bird” because the seats were all upholstered in duct tape. ---

Counting myself with my immediate family (since it seems I’ll be moving back in soon and I’ll be keeping my car at their house): Cars: Toyota Prius (mine) Toyota Prius (everybody’s, mainly used by my brother and sister) Mercedes SL500 (dad’s) BMW motorcycle (dad’s, dunno what model) Mini convertible (mom’s) Chevrolet Suburban (for use when necessary-towing trailers, tailgating, carrying a lot of people, etc.); 1958 VW Beetle (not driven) 1971 VW Beetle convertible (Not driven–my dad’s been restoring it for my mom since the early '90s. He swears he’ll finish it once he retires and has the time.) Boats: 46’ Hunter sailboat (given that we often spend more time motoring than not, I feel this is fair game) Apparently they’re about to purchase a small motor boat with a catamaran design for when they want to get around quicker on the water. So that’s…9, soon to be 10. Most of it’s not strictly necessary, but the truth is that it all does get used frequently. Well, except for the VWs, one of which will probably be sold in the near future. ---

They’re not _motor_ vehicles, but I think they fit with the purposes of this thread. I specified motor vehicles so that people wouldn’t include bicycles, kayaks, canoes, skateboards, Razor scooters, Segways (which do have a motor), etc. ---

Right now, between my mom and my two brothers, they have a 1940s car, two pickups, an old Renault, 66 Chevy van, Ford Galaxie, two Subarus (1970s, maybe), Beetle, Austin-Healey Sprite, Chevy Cavalier, Mercury Sable, and a tractor. That’s 13. But I might be leaving something out. And that’s not enough–my brother wants a double-decker bus. 😕 He also wants to make a motorized bicycle. I think his true calling is to run a junkyard. ---

I think I’m currently at my record number of vehicles. Between my wife and I, we have: 1996 Honda Civic 1996 Mazda Protege 2001 Suzuki SV650S 2002 Honda CBR600F4i 1975 Suzuki T-500M 2 bicycles Fortunately, everything on that list is fully paid off (except the CBR)!! ---

😃 Only if it is one of those boxy monstrosities! **The Sausage Creature** remembered it as a Fiat. You could take 4 adults and 4 kids anywhere in it (before seatbelt laws). IIRC, my SiL used to have trouble with the oil dipstick shooting out of the engine block when it would backfire. And the seats were…Completely. Covered. With. Duct. Tape. ---

We had one at a time. Datsun B210 (orange, smallest car alive), then a white Nissan Sentra 2-door, then a red Nissan Sentra 2-door. A tight squeeze once my brother and I were teenagers. My father was the only one of us who had a license so he was the only one who needed a car. (I got my license at 29 and now I have one car. My brother has none and Mom still doesn’t drive.) ---

For a very brief time, 3 between my wife and me, simply because we bought a new car but hadn’t donated the other to charity yet. Growing up in a family of 4, we never went above 2. ---

We’ve had as many as 5. Right now we’ve got a 2002 Aztek and a 1997 Ranger with a capped box. Our '91 Grand Caravan went to our daughter. We borrow it back whenever we need to haul something too bulky for our regular vehicles or too messy. (The van’s carpets are a bit thin and have several indelible stains; can’t hurt 'em any more.) Just sold rid of a '79 Caprice and our youngest son took a '95 Cavalier off our hands in February.
