Usually if I start a thread, it is doomed to just a few responses. But [this one](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=504878) (Christian Bale rant) surprised me in two ways. One, that I had heard the rant on the radio on the way to work, and an hour later no one had already started a thread on it. Two - it got to 315 replies. I doubt I’ll ever top it. ---

I did one of the usual “What’s your favorite sad song?” thread in Cafe Society. It got 198 replies and was viewed 3,948 times. I started it on April 27, 2002. ---

In the six or so years that I’ve been a member, it looks like I have only started 72 threads, only [one](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=324043) of which has ever made it to a second page with a total of 85 posts. ---

I think mine is a top ten thread @ 60 pages.
