What I meant was this. I did not, at the time, know that ā€˜spoogeā€™ (as it is normally spelled) was a euphamism for semen. I thought it was a catch-all phrase for any unidentified fluid or something. ---

I thought I heard this question before, and [so I have](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=4785925#post4785925): Quote: Back in the prehistory of computer communications, some of us ran our own dial-in bulletin boards on our home computers. Instead of logging onto the web, youā€™d dial up somebodyā€™s home phone that was (during certain hours) connected to the phone lines. It was sort of like a one-at-a-time message board. Some folks even had a dedicated line just for the computer. Some systems (I was part of S-net) would have certain computers call each other (usually in the wee hours) and exchange information so that all the posts on each of the computers in the system could be exchanged. There was some thing called ā€œusenetā€ out there, but I only heard vague rumors. With the help of a friend, I ran (for a month or three) a bulletin board in Spokane, Washington called ā€œthe Criminal Undergroundā€. I had three personas on that BBS (no, wait, it was four): Professor Moriarity (the Sysop), _Moose_ and _Rocko_ (the ā€œgoonsā€), and the ā€œPerfessorā€ who would give an interesting but only semifactual (if that) answer to any question you might ask. Some BBSs preferred you to have a user name that went along with the theme (or not ā€“ it really depended on who ran the BBS you were logged in to). At various times I was the Bat-Winged-Hamburger-Snatcher (one oā€™ my faves), BWHS, /\BW/, /^^/, The Great and Powerful Turtle, TGAPT, and lastly, Baloo (inspired by the character from the Jungle Book and also from Disneyā€™s [Tale Spin](http://epguides.com/TaleSpin/), which happened to be airing about then. Fast forward years later and the only one that was still with me that anyone would likely ā€œgetā€ was Baloo. Then came the great computer crash (and subsequent wallet-drain) of Winter2000. Three years later and I could not remember my password to any account at all. So I just took the highest rank I achieved in the USAF and tacked it on the front. If you google ā€œBalooā€ youā€™ll get more than 150,000 hits, nearly all of them not me (maybe all of them not me ;)). However, if you google SSgtBaloo, youā€™ll get just over 200 hits, and itā€™s probably _all_ me. For all of my adult life, everytime I appear at some gathering, holiday, vacation, family event; I am ā€˜pullinā€™ something behind my truck. Boat, RV, go-kart, utility trlrā€¦ you name it. There is _always_ something behind my truck. Currently we pull a set of trailers (yes, thatā€™s plural), such that when we head out for the weekend, our total vehicle has 12 wheels (on the ground), weighs about 18000 lbs., is 8.5 feet wide, and is 67 feet long. My mom started this with her greeting: ā€œwell, whatā€™re yaā€™ll pullinā€™ this time?ā€. Hence my user name. ---

ā€œmoonbunnyā€ is a reference to two thingsā€¦ 1. Sailor Moon. Her Japanese name is Tsukino Usagi, or ā€œRabbit of the Moonā€ 2. an ancient fairy tale about the ā€œRabbit in the Moon.ā€ Iā€™ve alternately heard Mayan, Chinese and Japanese versions. Iā€™m a very nocturnal person, and next to cats, rabbits are my favorite animals. My long-distance-almost-boyfriend-but-not-quite, who is a rather talented artist, drew me a logo for my LiveJournal that we subsequently called the MoonBunny. Itā€™s beautiful. I love my LDABBNQ. šŸ˜ƒ ---

Mine comes from the Beatlesā€™ song filtered through a Dave Barry joke. Back in High School, I was reading his _Guide to Cyberspace_, and was joking with some friends about the emoticons he had made up and about the famous phrases he had attached them to, such as: It was the best of times šŸ™‚ It was the worst of times ā˜¹ We came up with many, but the one that really stuck was I am the walrus (:3= Since then it has been my username everywhere that someone hasnā€™t already taken it (Iā€™m _thewalrusami_ in many places), but, sadly, very few places let you include the non-alphanumeric characters that you need to make the joke work. ---

I used to be **FireUnderpantsBoobs**. That was a name made up by a six-year-old, proclaiming that he would no longer answer to ā€œBradleyā€ anymore. Now Iā€™m **AwSnappity** (obviously). Itā€™s a bastardization of the once-popular-but-not-really-anymore phrase ā€œAw, snap!ā€ ā€œAw, snappity!ā€ is something that one of my friends used to say when he found himself in a situation where he had made a small mistake, for instance running a red light. He would say, ā€œAw, snappity!ā€ in a goofy voice and that would make him feel a little better. Truth be told, I donā€™t particularly like this username anymore, but Iā€™m hanging onto it because Iā€™m not sure if two name changes are allowed, plus I donā€™t want to keep explaining to others who I am.
