often in comedy (either stand-up or sitcoms) they’ll reference a rural, unsophisticated area in the US by miming playing a banjo and singing a short tune (8 - 12 notes at most). Unfortunately, I can’t even think of the tune anymore, since I went looking for it and found only the dueling banjos scene from Deliverance. (that could be it, but it doesn’t sound quite right). Could somebody please point me to a video of the original tune these comics are imitating? ---

If I remember correctly, as seen and heard in **Deliverance** (and subsequent radio play), the piece features only one banjo, “dueling” with one guitar. Discuss. ---
