What's the most amount of money you've found?

You read it absolutely correctly!

The most I ever found was a $100 bill in the parking lot of a restaurant. But the best found money was the day my dog came home with a ten dollar bill in her mouth! We lived in a very small, rural town at the time, where there were no leash laws. The dog would just leave each morning to go for a stroll and would invariably come home with some piece of trash she’d picked up (a paper cup, a bread wrapper, etc.) But one morning she came trotting down the path with a ten-spot in her mouth! Good dog!! She got an extra biscuit that morning!

The summer after I graduated high school, I worked in a dry cleaner’s. When people brought their clothes in, we were supposed to look through the pockets and make sure there was nothing there. We were told that anything under ten bucks was ours to keep. The first time I found money, I found a $20, and my boss said that since it was my first find, he’d let me keep it.

A few weeks later, I was going through the pockets of a very expensive suit and I found thirty-five HUNDRED dollars. I looked at the tag with the customer’s name on it, and it was a very long, very Italian name. I live in Northern New Jersey, in the same town the Sopranos are supposed to be from. Needless to say, I decided that maybe I should call the gentleman who dropped off the pants. I left a message at his home, asking him to please call the cleaners, we had a question on one of his items.

About half an hour after I called him, he comes rushing back into the store, pinky ring and all, and asked me if I had gone through the pockets of his clothes. I told him yes, I had, and asked if he could please tell me what he thought he left. He said “About thirty-four hundred bucks.” I said “Actually, it’s thirty-five, and it’s in the safe, I’ll go get it for you.”

He thanked me profusely and gave me a hundred bucks. He also came in every Saturday for the rest of the summer with coffee and donuts for me.
